Deep Into The Forest

Digital illustration of a small, wide-eyed child holding a lantern and walking through a dark, twisted forest with eerie faces in the trees.
And then she went deep into the forest / Så gikk hun dypt inn i skogen, 2026.

Illustration made for the annual group exhibition at Meråker Kunstforening. The topic for this year’s April 23.-26. exhibition was “dypt in i skogen” (“deep into the forest”). I imagined the topic as the title of an animated film, and the illustration as a scene early in the story where the young girl first enters the forest.
